Intensive Professional Thai Massage 150 Hour Program (i5)
This is the first 5 weeks of Teacher Training GCT 300 Hour Program.
The main objectives of student taking I5 program are:
A: Be able to perform good quality Thai massage professionally.
B: Lay strong foundation to return to continue for GCT teacher training program.
The i5 program will enable students to perform Thai massage safely and effectively. Thus the graduate will be able to offer Thai massage service to the public. The curriculum is approved by the Thai Ministry of Education for Intensive Professional Thai Massage 150 hour program.
For a Thai citizen this program will qualify the graduate to apply for skill testing with the Labor Department for the certificate of Thai massage therapist and able to apply to work aboard.
The curriculum contains Comprehensive of Thai Massage 90 hour; internship massage to prepare students for real life situation; massage special need i.e. senior persons or special children; understanding blockages and how to release them.
For lecture classes are: Applied Anatomy to Thai Massage by Dr. Sudhee Sudasna, M.D.; Anatomy and Pathology Basic Screening Applied to Thai Massage by Assc. Prof. Sulibhorn Cheewapanich; and Theory of Thai Massage by Kanchanoo Muangsiri, TMC School Director.
Students will learn history and background of Thai massage. Sen Sib: theory of Sen Sib, energy blockage and symptoms relate to Sen Sib in Thai massage, theory in depth and application of Thai massage; general knowledge importance to Thai massage; professional ethics in Thai massage; Herbal ball application in Thai massage; learn Thai herbal ball properties and their use in Thai massage, cautions, selection of herbs, how to make herbal ball, how to apply herbal ball. Review on Anatomy and pathology for safe practice in Thai massage.
NOTE:
To fully complete education of anatomy and physiology requires more classroom hours. Due to the limitation of time to achieve in i5 programs objective, the applicants are urged to undertaking anatomy and physiology course from other sources, such as community college, prior to attend the i5 program. However, this is not mandatory. Thai massage learning in i5 program requires basic understanding in anatomy and the cautionary sites in Thai massage. The school provides classroom overview of Anatomy and pathology in relation to Thai massage adequate for safe practice in Thai Massage to ensure effective result. Review on Anatomy and pathology for safe practice in Thai massage. Courses combine with continuation of Anatomy and Physiology application to massage for safety and effectiveness during the practice through out the program. Student will learn more in depth anatomy and pathology in relation to Thai massage from two adjunct professors at TMC. Student will have anatomy hand book on loan for self study for basis knowledge and more information at the schools library for further learning.
